Muscles are bundle of thousands of muscle fibers. A single muscle fiber is an elongated muscle cell. Inside the muscle, there are segments called the contractile myofibrils. Subunits of myofibrils are known as sarcomere. Overlapping sarcomere slides along each other when stimulated by the motor neurons. Edited by Ashraf
