This animation shows the role of antibodies in specific immunity. Antibodies are proteins that bind and neutralized specific antigen of foreign particles like pathogens. Antibodies are synthesized by B cells or B lymphocytes in response to the antigen. When an individual is exposed to a specific antigen, large number of plasma cells capable of producing the antibody specific to the antigen is produces. These cells in turn, produce large quantity of antibody to neutralize the pathogen.
