    The Paramecium is a group of Protist, Ciliate. They generally feed upon bacteria and other small cells. Osmoregulation (balancing constant salt and water concentration) is carried out by a pair of contractile vacuoles, which actively pump water absorbed by osmosis from their surroundings.
