The cell nucleus is a highly specialized organelle which functions as the information processing and administrative center of the cell. Two major functions of the cell nucleus are to store the cell's hereditary material and coordinate the cell's activities, such as growth, intermediary metabolism, protein synthesis, and reproduction.
