    Wreck in the Thames

    In the summer of 2005 Wessex Archaeology were called in by the Port of London Authority to excavate and recover the bow and part of the side of a late 16th century merchant ship. The ship's timbers have been dated to 1574, and amongst the artefacts recovered is a cannon.
