Mechanism of neural signal transmission from motor neurons to muscle fibers. This is how it works: Synapses of motor neurons are attached to the motor end plate, a highly excitable region of muscle fiber plasma membrane. Acetylcholine, released from the synaptic end bulb, bind to specific receptor molecules present on the motor end plate and initiates action potentials across the muscle's surface, causing the muscle to contract.
