A Moving Myosin Motor Protein

Motor proteins are molecular motors which move. They are powered by the hydrolysis of ATP and convert chemical energy into mechanical work. The most prominent example of a motor protein is the muscle protein myosin which motors the contraction of muscle fibers in animals.
