Cohesion Transport Theory

Cohesion Transport |n How?: Water has cohesion, it sticks together so in the phloem of plants the water which is "sticking together" moves upward from the stem. Think about it this way: when you have a straw in water the water goes up the straw higher than the water level because the water is attracted to itself. The same thing happens in the stem until the pressure gets it to the leaves.
