Control of voluntary muscle contraction

Contraction of voluntary muscle is controlled by the nerve impulse generated by the motor neurons. Neurotransmitter, released from the nerve ending combine with specific receptors in the muscle membrane. This produces electric potential in the muscle that lead to muscle contraction.
