Altering heart rate while holding breath using a pulse oximeter

A pulse oximetry is a method that allows to monitor a patients hemoglobin saturation. A sensor is put on a patients body like the earlobe or fingertip or across a foot for infants. Light then passes through a patient to a photo detector. Change of absorbance on every wavelength is calibrated.
