Several species of Cecropia (Urticaceae) have a symbiotic relationship with ants. The insects inhabit the hollow branches and protect the plant against herbivores and injuries. This short film depicts a piece of Cecropia twig with the ants that were found within. This film was shot in Aquidauana (Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil) in january 2010.
